Born in Prince George, BC, Tiffany Tregarthen’s early dancing was nurtured through programs including Royal City Youth Ballet Professional Training Program with Yaming Li, Dancestreams, Eastwood Collegiate of the Arts, and Backstage Theatre. She started her career in New York working with companies including Mia Michaels’ R.A.W. She held an 8-month residency at POZ Dance Theatre in Seoul training, performing and choreographing as well as instructing at Hansung University and co-creating the POS International Childrens’ Dance Program. She’s participated in dance seminars in Belgium, Italy and Czech Republic training with Hans Tappendorf (Vienna State Ballet), Ann Van Den Broek (WArd/waRD), Lenka Jarosikova and Marie-Louise Wilderijckx (The National Ballet of Flanders), Ben Bergmans (Rotterdamse Dansacademie), among others. She has instructed at numerous institutions including Antwerp International Dansstage, London Contemporary Dance School, NYU Dance Program, London City School of Ballet and Fontys University (The Netherlands). She created a work for Les Grands Ballets Canadiens de Montreal as a winner of their National Young Choreographer Competition. Additionally, she has danced for Wen Wei Dance, 605 Collective, Dana Gingras, Julia Sasso, Beijing Modern Dance and Justine A. Chambers among others. She has toured internationally with Kidd Pivot in The Tempest Replica, Polaris and Betroffenheit. Together with David, Tiffany is directing, creating, educating and performing as Out Innerspace Dance Theatre whose recent creation Major Motion Picture was awarded a CanDance commission, two national tours and will be featured at MilanOltre Festival in Milan. DESCRIPTION DE LA CLASSE
Tiffany will lead the class through technical and creative, set and improvised material that is related to training, creating and performing for Out Innerspace Dance Theatre’s latest work Major Motion Picture. Class will include learning repertoire as well as methods for creating choreographic material and preparing for performance.
